If you haven'­t seen the movies Stagecoach (original version) and Quigley Down Under, you may not understand wearing a belt and suspenders together. You'­ve probably always heard that the two don'­t mix which is true if you'­re wearing a suit . . . but this is a completely different concept. These suspenders are not like their English counterparts - braces - which are, of course, very dressy. Mine are casual and made to be worn with jeans and khakis.

Nobody says you have to wear a belt and suspenders at the same time; but if you run up on me, I'­ll probably have them on together. In my way of thinking, if John Wayne and Quigley wore them together, that'­s good enough for me. The combination looks especially interesting if you own a Col. Littleton belt - both have the same adjusting feature.
