Col. Littleton Supports Children’s Music Program
Have you ever seen a cuter group of violin virtuosos than this group from Richland Elementary School in Lynnville?
Col. Littleton partnered with Martin Methodist College in their OpporTUNEity Music Program that provides youth in Giles County with a unique opportunity to receive music lessons and mentoring from the college’s music students in a supervised, one-on-one setting. We were honored to assist Richland School’s participation in the program by providing the violins in memory of Colonel’s brother-in-law, Wayne Hobbs, who was Principal at Richland for 25 years.
It is widely recognized that the development and encouragement of one’s musical abilities exerts a positive influence on academic performance, self-confidence, creativity and self-esteem.
We salute Martin Methodist College and their CWN Community Arts Academy for making this significant contribution to the children and families in this area.
As for our performing artists at Richland, they had lots of fun learning and participating in recitals throughout the year and are anticipating a planned expansion of the program at Richland to include instruction in other musical instruments.
