Colonel has added a timeless classic in traditional belts to our line of adjustable belts with the No. 1 Surcingle Belt. The sharp contrast of rich, dark tobacco brown American Buffalo leather trim and the khaki cotton surcingle strap sets this belt apart from any you’ll see.
The craftsmanship of the No. 1 Surcingle, designed to wear with jeans, khakis/chinos and shorts, is quickly evident. While most surcingle belts on the market are rather flimsy and lightweight in nature, Colonel has backed the edge-stitched American Buffalo leather with Italian bridle leather, giving it two layers of strength and durability. The khaki cotton surcingle webbing is thick and tightly woven, adding to the look and feel of quality. Appointed with solid brass hardware.
Our belt Collection was designed by Colonel Littleton with more than a nod to the military and sportsman’s tradition. When the belt first came out, the general reaction was “Why hasn’t someone thought of this before?”
The uniqueness of this collection of belts is in its’ adjusting feature. The traditional front buckle allows only three inches of fluctuation. Colonel’s belt adds another 8 inches, adjusting in one-inch increments. This means that one size fits almost everyone, which also makes it a great gift item. Here’s how it works. Rather than adjusting and readjusting the belt in the front and messing up the leather, you park it in the middle position, where it belongs, and make any necessary adjustments on the side. That way if you have on bulkier trousers, a heavyweight shirt, or layers for warmth… if you lose a few pounds or, heaven forbid, gain a few… your belt accommodates all these variations nicely.
Aside from being one of the most functional and practical belt collections on the market, this collection looks uncommonly good… especially with khakis and jeans, for which it was designed.

Leather is a passion for me. There are more kinds of leather and leather processing out there than you can shake a stick at. You can mold leather into just about any shape or form. You can make every hide look just alike. You can dye it green, blue or even pink. You can apply a finish, coat it, spray it or make it look slick and shiny. That’s not what we’re about at Col. We don’t apply a finish to hide character markings. The way I see it, every marking tells a story and covering them robs the piece of its life and character.

Very innovative design and also very versatile with a “lot” of room to grow or shrink. Cant say anything but good as to craftsmanship and hardware. I put 4 Stars only because in my mind the leather could be a bit heavier duty. But thats just my opinion, who knows, I could be wrong!
I love my Colonel Littleton belts, each distinctive in their own way. I have often had friends make mention of my different colonel Littleton belts which doesn’t happen with other belts i wear. This is my second Col Littleton belt. Great quality leather and design. The “gun sling” idea ensures that it will always look the same, even if your weight fluctuates a bit. Prompt and informed delivery and classy packaging are the icing on the cake!
