We are committed to producing quality, handcrafted products that showcase our time-honored standards of excellence and deep respect for the Americana tradition. Col. Littleton products go through rigorous testing and numerous quality inspections before being shipped to our customers. Should you receive a Col. Littleton product that is defective in materials or workmanship, you can count on us to make it right. Our guarantee is limited to the cost of the product itself. It also does not cover normal wear and tear. We feel if you just plain “wore it out,” you got your money’s worth. Also, we cannot be responsible for an item which has suffered through alteration, damage due to improper cleaning, improper use, mishandling or accident. If we made a mistake in personalizing your product or if the product is defective in materials or workmanship, of course we’ll replace it. Otherwise, personalized products are not returnable.
Leather is a passion for me. There are more kinds of leather and leather processing out there than you can shake a stick at. You can mold leather into just about any shape or form. You can make every hide look just alike. You can dye it green, blue or even pink. You can apply a finish, coat it, spray it or make it look slick and shiny. That’s not what we’re about at Col. Littleton. To me the beauty is in the naturalness of the leather. People always comment to me about the special “feel” of our leather and how it becomes even more beautiful after it has some wear on it. It’s all about our leather process. When you buy Col. Littleton leather goods, you’re buying, for the most part, full-grain American vegetable-tanned steerhide that has received a minimum of alteration. We don’t apply a finish to hide character markings. The way I see it, every marking tells a story and covering them robs the piece of its life and character.
I see a real resurgence in the country today for products made in America. Our focus is to design and create products that speak to the time-honored traditions that have made this country great such as handmade craftsmanship, authentic rich leathers and quality workmanship. There’s a nostalgic feel about the products we make . . . most of them could have been made 100 years ago and many are made using turn-of-the-20th-century methodology and machinery. Our products are true Americana; forged as our forefathers intended by people who care and take pride in making a beautiful product.
My husband was so excited for this to be delivered yesterday! We live on a farm and a fly sneaking into our screened porch is inevitable. He currently can’t wait for that to happen so he can break this bad boy out! Very nicely made. We plan to hang it on the porch; it’s great to have something that is pleasant to the eye and a conversation piece as well! Another hit from the Colonel!
For many years my husband used an ugly plastic flyswatter. I couldn’t stand it. One day at a friend’s house I saw a leather flyswatter. I thought, what a beautiful object. I didn’t know about the existence of leather flyswatters. The only thing our friend could tell me, was, that she bought it in the US. My search for a leather flyswatter startet. Unfortunately, I couldn’t find one in Switzerland where we live. So extended my search circle and stumbled upon the No. 1 Flyswatter of Col. Littleton. This one was even more beautiful than the one I’ve seen at my friend’s house. It was clear that I would like to have the personalized version. My wish was to have M+R engraved instead of three initials. Col. Littleton made it possible. My husband was over the moon when he got them and so am I. This flyswatter is piece of art. Moreover, the little story which comes with the flyswatter touched our hearts. Everything is done with a lot of love. Thank you so much! Kindest regards from Switzerland
My wife and I recieved our first for an anniversary gift. Although it gave us many years of unprecedented service, we became overzealous when our cabin became active with yellow jackets and snapped the handle. In short we now have two, one for short swats and the other for long range swats. Like Barry Corbin in the movie Monty Walsh, it’s a personal fight.
21 years ago my Mom gifted me the #1 flyswatter for Christmas. She passed in 2007. To this day, it is my favorite gift of all time. I am 68 years old. I use the swatter when needed. It is a cruel weapon: in the hands of a trained fly-killer, the flyswatter is brutally effective… and much more romantic than a zapper. Thanks Colonel for the creating my favorite toy of all time.
The No. 1 flyswatter has been my go-to holiday gift for years! I’ve never seen so much joyful laughter as I have when watching the faces of folks opening the box [included, along with a cloth cover] to find a personalized leather flyswatter. It’s vaguely ridiculous, yet completely useful. The swatter works equally well on flies, bloodthirsty Louisiana mosquitos, nosey neighbors, and recalcitrant husbands – a perfect item to keep around the house.
