No. 33 Notebook in American Alligator – 001

Where Craftsmanship and Artistry Intersect

The Colonel chose to make the No. 33 Notebook available in American Alligator due to the popularity of the original notebook with our customers and the potential he felt it had to be a standout in American Alligator.  We think his vision is right on.  American Alligator is the shining crown of our craftsmanship as is evident in this outstandingly beautiful notebook.

The No. 33 Notebook may well be the epitome of the take-along notebook/journal.  It looks impressive in business venues, but also works exceptionally well when you’re on the go.  Extremely portable and made to take everywhere, it is a compact, multi-purpose notebook . . . or really a cross between a notebook and a journal.

“American Alligator is, to me, one of the most beautiful and luxurious leathers in existence. I personally select the hides with the right ‘personality’ for specific products like this alligator notebook and determine how each hide is to be cut and matched for the most pleasing end result. Products like this are destined to become works of art, and the time and materials afforded them goes above and beyond what you might expect. Can you imagine walking into a business or professional meeting with this notebook?  I promise you will definitely create a great deal of ‘notebook/journal envy’ everywhere you take it.”

-Colonel

Functionality and Design

Colonel designed the No. 33 Notebook in American Alligator and fully lined it in our wonderfully textured, full-grain, Tobacco Brown American Buffalo.  Two front straps with nickel plated ball-stud closures complete the look.  An 8 ¾” x 5” pocket under the front flap holds your phone and/or writing paraphernalia.

Open it up and you have your office on the go.  On the right interior, in addition to a business card and pen holder, you have a replaceable 5” x 8” ruled Memorandum Pad for jotting down quick notes and lists.  On the left interior you’ll find Colonel’s Journal Register (9 ¾” H x 7 ⅜” W) which contains 160 ruled and center-stitched pages (80 sheets).  Date the registers on the inside cover and file them away for future reference.  Great for journaling, compiling business plans, speech writing or any way it fits your needs.

The tri-fold construction of the notebook allows you to fold it to the section you want to use when space is limited, and it’s easily compatible with left or right-handed users.  Take it on extended flights, while waiting for appointments, to the beach, to the office or anywhere you choose to do creative thinking and writing.

You’ll treasure this No. 33 Notebook in American Alligator for years to come.  Make it undeniably yours by personalizing it with three initials on the front nickel plated oval plate.  Made in the Col. Littleton Workshop – Lynnville, TN USA.

The hides we use are from alligators raised and trapped in the wild. Each hide is intentionally chosen to show the natural character markings such as scars and scratches that are common to alligators raised in the wild.

Our Warranty

We are committed to producing quality, handcrafted products that showcase our time-honored standards of excellence and deep respect for the Americana tradition. Col. Littleton products go through rigorous testing and numerous quality inspections before being shipped to our customers. Should you receive a Col. Littleton product that is defective in materials or workmanship, you can count on us to make it right. Our guarantee is limited to the cost of the product itself. It also does not cover normal wear and tear. We feel if you just plain “wore it out,” you got your money’s worth. Also, we cannot be responsible for an item which has suffered through alteration, damage due to improper cleaning, improper use, mishandling or accident. If we made a mistake in personalizing your product or if the product is defective in materials or workmanship, of course we’ll replace it. Otherwise, personalized products are not returnable.

Our Leather

Leather is a passion for me. There are more kinds of leather and leather processing out there than you can shake a stick at. You can mold leather into just about any shape or form. You can make every hide look just alike. You can dye it green, blue or even pink. You can apply a finish, coat it, spray it or make it look slick and shiny. That’s not what we’re about at Col. Littleton. To me the beauty is in the naturalness of the leather. People always comment to me about the special “feel” of our leather and how it becomes even more beautiful after it has some wear on it. It’s all about our leather process. When you buy Col. Littleton leather goods, you’re buying, for the most part, full-grain American vegetable-tanned steerhide that has received a minimum of alteration. We don’t apply a finish to hide character markings. The way I see it, every marking tells a story and covering them robs the piece of its life and character.

Our Craftsmanship

I see a real resurgence in the country today for products made in America. Our focus is to design and create products that speak to the time-honored traditions that have made this country great such as handmade craftsmanship, authentic rich leathers and quality workmanship. There’s a nostalgic feel about the products we make . . . most of them could have been made 100 years ago and many are made using turn-of-the-20th-century methodology and machinery. Our products are true Americana; forged as our forefathers intended by people who care and take pride in making a beautiful product.
