Colonel's perspective on "stuff"

“I have a whole different sense of feeling about “stuff.” Stuff is not important. I always jokingly say, “Money won’t make you happy, but if you have enough money, you don’t have to be unhappy around here. You can be unhappy in Acapulco or somewhere other than here.” I guess the thing for me was that I was fortunate enough to figure out what I like to do. I discovered I had a talent for leather design, even though I don’t consider myself a designer at all. But as the old saying goes, if you enjoy what you do, that’s what’s important. That’s probably what you should look for, not money or fame. I love it when someone calls me, or usually emails me, and tells me they were in an airport and couldn’t get to their flight because people kept stopping them to talk about their bag. That’s what makes me feel good… knowing that my work is appreciated and brings joy to other people.”
