American Made Leather Billfold, No. 4

This full-grain leather bifold wallet has a timeless, sophisticated look as well as functionality – including a compartment for bills, slots for four credit cards and one ID card, as well as two hidden pockets. Brings class to all your transactions – a must for any gentleman.

Some folks are just purists at heart, so we designed this classic folding wallet for traditional rear pocket carry. They called them “billfolds” when the Colonel was a boy, so that’s where this product got its name.

These wallets are handmade in Tennessee, USA from a special section of our vintage brown, hand-tanned, full-grain leather with lots of character. Lined in cognac calfskin.

  • Full-grain steerhide
  • Lined in cognac calfskin
  • Edge stitched for strength and durability
  • May be personalized with three embossed initials on lower right front

  1. After looking for sometime decided to replace my well worn wallet with the #4 Colonel wallet. I spoke with Tina and asked her to select one with some character and not just the typical leather appearance of the typical department store piece. She selectected a beautiful wallet that will surely only get better as it ages. The quality of the Colonel’s leather and the expert craftmanship speaks for itself with every new article I purchace. Thanks so much for your help Tina!

  2. Look, I cannot deny it is a LOT of money for what is essentially a very straight-ahead bi-fold wallet. However, the finish and execution are PERFECT and the quality of the leather is superb. I love all the personal touches and anticipate this being the last wallet I buy for a decade at the very least. If you’re fortunate enough to have the cash, support this great outfit and support locally made goods. You won’t regret it! Thanks Colonel.

  3. I finally wore out my No. 4 wallet I received as a gift over ten years ago. I needed a replacement so I just ordered another one. Easy choice. This one looks just as beautiful as the first.

  4. Quality of material, remarkable design and attention to detail make this a stunning wallet. I look forward to taking it out of my pocket to enjoy. The experience never gets old. 5 stars isn’t enough!

  5. Just received my No. 4 Billford a few days ago with my initials embossed on it to personalize it. I am really enjoying it so far, and from the looks of the quality and workmanship I feel i will get plenty of years worth of use out of it. My billfold arrived packaged very nicely. I felt like I was getting the “royal treatment” with a handwritten thank you (when was the last time you saw one of those)…and a “mini-moonie” to enjoy as I was exploring my new purchase. Thank you Tina Humphrey for the nice “Thank you” note….in my 71 yrs. I can’t remember the last time I got one of those. Best Wishes and continued success to you all ….

Our Warranty

We are committed to producing quality, handcrafted products that showcase our time-honored standards of excellence and deep respect for the Americana tradition. Col. Littleton products go through rigorous testing and numerous quality inspections before being shipped to our customers. Should you receive a Col. Littleton product that is defective in materials or workmanship, you can count on us to make it right. Our guarantee is limited to the cost of the product itself. It also does not cover normal wear and tear. We feel if you just plain “wore it out,” you got your money’s worth. Also, we cannot be responsible for an item which has suffered through alteration, damage due to improper cleaning, improper use, mishandling or accident. If we made a mistake in personalizing your product or if the product is defective in materials or workmanship, of course we’ll replace it. Otherwise, personalized products are not returnable.

Our Leather

Leather is a passion for me. There are more kinds of leather and leather processing out there than you can shake a stick at. You can mold leather into just about any shape or form. You can make every hide look just alike. You can dye it green, blue or even pink. You can apply a finish, coat it, spray it or make it look slick and shiny. That’s not what we’re about at Col. Littleton. To me the beauty is in the naturalness of the leather. People always comment to me about the special “feel” of our leather and how it becomes even more beautiful after it has some wear on it. It’s all about our leather process. When you buy Col. Littleton leather goods, you’re buying, for the most part, full-grain American vegetable-tanned steerhide that has received a minimum of alteration. We don’t apply a finish to hide character markings. The way I see it, every marking tells a story and covering them robs the piece of its life and character.

Our Craftsmanship

I see a real resurgence in the country today for products made in America. Our focus is to design and create products that speak to the time-honored traditions that have made this country great such as handmade craftsmanship, authentic rich leathers and quality workmanship. There’s a nostalgic feel about the products we make . . . most of them could have been made 100 years ago and many are made using turn-of-the-20th-century methodology and machinery. Our products are true Americana; forged as our forefathers intended by people who care and take pride in making a beautiful product.
