Colonel is an American Alligator aficionado and a long-time wearer of suspenders. He personally chose the hides to make these suspenders and supervised every step of their construction.

Being the nice guy that I am, I made a pair for myself . . . just to test them out, you know. It had nothing to do with the fact that I love American Alligator and Suspenders. I can tell you, they are beyond stellar, and I feel good every time I wear them. Since I made a couple of pairs for customers and a pair for myself, I wanted to make a few pairs available on the website.

Functionality and Design

If you like the option of wearing your suspenders with buttons or snap hooks, you’ll be a fan of our No. 3 American Alligator Suspenders which come with buttons and solid brass snap hooks and may be worn interchangeably.

Front suspender straps feature solid brass prong hooks to allow for eight inches of adjustment, so one size fits most.  The elastic back strap in the traditional y-back design increases comfort and mobility. You have the choice of wearing your suspenders with buttons or snap hooks. Seven brass suspender buttons are included which attach to your pants like the top button on a pair of jeans. Or, you can have regular buttons sewn on your pants to hold your suspenders.  Three leather-lined American Alligator buttonhole tabs are included. Three solid brass scissor-type snap hooks are included which attach to your belt loops for easy wear with most pants.

Leather Body: Luxurious and rare, American Alligator leather is sourced from the Southeast and expertly handcrafted by skilled artisans in our Lynnville, TN Workshop. Leather

Leather Backing: Full-grain American Steerhide, expertly vegetable-tanned and finished in rich custom colors, handcrafted exclusively for Colonel Littleton by a small local tannery.
