“Even though I’m a fully converted fan of technology, I still enjoy writing things down and ‘thinking on paper.’ This full-grain leather Travel Portfolio will upgrade your memory the old-fashioned way.”

– Colonel Littleton

Construction & Extras

Colonel designed this Travel Portfolio in full-grain, beautifully textured, Tobacco Brown American Buffalo as part of the new CL Buffalo Co. premium line of leather goods. He had the buffalo dry milled for a soft hand and trimmed it in our traditional Vintage Brown Polished Steerhide for a nice contrast. To further add to the quality and aesthetics of the portfolio, he fully lined it in Calfskin.

Other features include edge stitching for durability and a finished look and a convenient interior slash pocket for carrying receipts, tickets, documents, etc. It accommodates a standard 5” x 8” pad and includes Colonel-designed Memorandum Pad which is secured by two steerhide straps and may be reordered.

“I like to leave this portfolio by my bedside table. You never know when a million dollar idea might tiptoe across your cerebral cortex in the middle of the night. A good idea not written down may be lost forever.”

– Colonel

Leather accessories, such as travel bags, business bags and writing portfolios are seen by others as extensions of your wardrobe. Colonel will help you keep your image intact with this handsome portfolio no matter where you use it.

6” x 9” closed. Make your Travel Portfolio extra special by adding 3 embossed initials on the front. Product packaging include a protective cotton canvas drawstring dust bag with the Col. Littleton logo and a gift box. Handmade in the Col. Littleton Workshop, Lynnville, TN USA.

When it comes to American Buffalo, Colonel says,
“Expect a leather that is unapologetically rugged with more character, nicks, scrapes and variations in color.”

  1. This is an awesome portfolio. The craftsmanship and quality of the leather is outstanding. My only suggestion is that the back of the pad is held with two leather straps instead of a full length pocket. When you are writing the straps kind of get in the way of how your hand lays. I would gladly pay extra for a full pocket.
The Colonel has definitely got his attention to detail!!!

  2. First, after discovering CL, I fell in love with the Buffalo. I love the deep mahogany color of this leather. What makes this Portfolio special is the perfect, handy size! It’s large enough to cover all the ground you need, note taking wise, but small enough to go anywhere, or do anything, with. It’s a unique size really. Have never seen one like it. As usual the overall quality takes your breath away.

  3. I purchased this beautifully crafted travel journal for my granddaughter who just graduated from Vanderbilt University. I was hoping to find something very special made in Tennessee.I did just that. What a perfect companion to document her world travels, in a journal she will always be proud to have.

  4. What in the world could you say, it’s Col. Littleton! Nothing but perfection. Craftsmanship, service, product, stitching, item, PERFECTION! I so love these products. If you can, do yourself a favor, order you something from them just to treat yourself in life. It just feels good. Pastor Hale

  5. I am a big note-taker; all the cool things you hear going about your day and your daily study are amazing. I need to write them down to remember. I thought long and hard about purchasing this travel portfolio. I needed something to pair with my Bible to take notes. The portfolio perfectly matches my Bible’s size, color, and material. I took it to church today and received a couple of compliments.
I am looking forward to the aging of the leather and using it in my daily walk with God. Well worth the money, and I am very proud to own this portfolio. Thanks for the great-looking product, Colonel.

Our Warranty

We are committed to producing quality, handcrafted products that showcase our time-honored standards of excellence and deep respect for the Americana tradition. Col. Littleton products go through rigorous testing and numerous quality inspections before being shipped to our customers. Should you receive a Col. Littleton product that is defective in materials or workmanship, you can count on us to make it right. Our guarantee is limited to the cost of the product itself. It also does not cover normal wear and tear. We feel if you just plain “wore it out,” you got your money’s worth. Also, we cannot be responsible for an item which has suffered through alteration, damage due to improper cleaning, improper use, mishandling or accident. If we made a mistake in personalizing your product or if the product is defective in materials or workmanship, of course we’ll replace it. Otherwise, personalized products are not returnable.

Our Leather

Leather is a passion for me. There are more kinds of leather and leather processing out there than you can shake a stick at. You can mold leather into just about any shape or form. You can make every hide look just alike. You can dye it green, blue or even pink. You can apply a finish, coat it, spray it or make it look slick and shiny. That’s not what we’re about at Col. Littleton. To me the beauty is in the naturalness of the leather. People always comment to me about the special “feel” of our leather and how it becomes even more beautiful after it has some wear on it. It’s all about our leather process. When you buy Col. Littleton leather goods, you’re buying, for the most part, full-grain American vegetable-tanned steerhide that has received a minimum of alteration. We don’t apply a finish to hide character markings. The way I see it, every marking tells a story and covering them robs the piece of its life and character.

Our Craftsmanship

I see a real resurgence in the country today for products made in America. Our focus is to design and create products that speak to the time-honored traditions that have made this country great such as handmade craftsmanship, authentic rich leathers and quality workmanship. There’s a nostalgic feel about the products we make . . . most of them could have been made 100 years ago and many are made using turn-of-the-20th-century methodology and machinery. Our products are true Americana; forged as our forefathers intended by people who care and take pride in making a beautiful product.
