No. 1 Steno Padfolio in Tobacco Brown American Buffalo

New From Col. Littleton – An American Classic for Executives, Writers, Note Takers and List Makers – A stylish design that is perfect for those who like to write it down and value both form and function.

A line down the middle, and your notes take on a whole new look and feel.  Before the age of technology, stenographers relied on the steno pad for taking notes with lightning speed.  Writing in a narrow-column format encouraged by the center line accomplished that need for speed.  Even though the need and methodology may have changed, the steno pad remains a valued and useful accessory.

Construction and Features

As Colonel always says,
“Value almost always equates to time and materials . . . the time it takes to make something and the materials from which it’s made.”

One hundred ten production steps are involved in making the Leather No. 1 Steno Padfolio the epitome of elegance and functionality.  It is handcrafted in the finest richly textured Tobacco Brown American Buffalo and trimmed in our Vintage Brown American Steerhide.  Then, to elevate the quality even more, it is lined in soft Calfskin.

Features a convenient, easily accessible exterior pocket (8 ¼” W x 4” H) with a leather tab closure.  The interior is appointed with a pen/pencil holder, business card holder, a 5” x 6” card pocket with a diagonal slash pocket as well as two large pockets that run the entire length of the Padfolio; and, of course, Colonel’s No. 1 Writing Tablet/Steno Pad which may be reordered. The notebook has 80 Gregg-Ruled heavy-weight 60# pages and is double-sided, allowing for twice the writing space.

What truly sets the Steno Padfolio apart is the attention to detail.  From the meticulously hand-stitched edges to the interior calfskin lining and convenient exterior pocket, every element has been carefully considered and expertly crafted to ensure a product that is durable, striking in its uniqueness and beautiful in an understated, elegant way.

Designed to be reversible.  When you’ve written through Side A, just flip the pad over and begin using Side B. Moving the steno pad slightly upward in the padfolio allows you to fold back the cover and completed pages as you are writing.

Colonel’s No. 1 Steno Padfolio is a timeless piece that will age beautifully over time, acquiring a unique patina that tells the story of its owner’s adventures.

Make it undeniably yours by personalizing it with three initials on the inside brass plate to add an extra touch of distinction.  Product packaging includes a cotton canvas, protective drawstring dust bag and a gift box, both with the Col. Littleton Cameo Logo.  Hand crafted with care in the Col. Littleton Workshop, Lynnville, TN USA.

When it comes to American Buffalo, Colonel says,
“Expect a leather that is unapologetically rugged with more character, nicks, scrapes and variations in color.”

Our Warranty

We are committed to producing quality, handcrafted products that showcase our time-honored standards of excellence and deep respect for the Americana tradition. Col. Littleton products go through rigorous testing and numerous quality inspections before being shipped to our customers. Should you receive a Col. Littleton product that is defective in materials or workmanship, you can count on us to make it right. Our guarantee is limited to the cost of the product itself. It also does not cover normal wear and tear. We feel if you just plain “wore it out,” you got your money’s worth. Also, we cannot be responsible for an item which has suffered through alteration, damage due to improper cleaning, improper use, mishandling or accident. If we made a mistake in personalizing your product or if the product is defective in materials or workmanship, of course we’ll replace it. Otherwise, personalized products are not returnable.

Our Leather

Leather is a passion for me. There are more kinds of leather and leather processing out there than you can shake a stick at. You can mold leather into just about any shape or form. You can make every hide look just alike. You can dye it green, blue or even pink. You can apply a finish, coat it, spray it or make it look slick and shiny. That’s not what we’re about at Col. Littleton. To me the beauty is in the naturalness of the leather. People always comment to me about the special “feel” of our leather and how it becomes even more beautiful after it has some wear on it. It’s all about our leather process. When you buy Col. Littleton leather goods, you’re buying, for the most part, full-grain American vegetable-tanned steer hide that has received a minimum of alteration. We don’t apply a finish to hide character markings. The way I see it, every marking tells a story and covering them robs the piece of its life and character.

Our Craftsmanship

I see a real resurgence in the country today for products made in America. Our focus is to design and create products that speak to the time-honored traditions that have made this country great such as handmade craftsmanship, authentic rich leathers and quality workmanship. There’s a nostalgic feel about the products we make . . . most of them could have been made 100 years ago and many are made using turn-of-the-20th-century methodology and machinery. Our products are true Americana; forged as our forefathers intended by people who care and take pride in making a beautiful product.
