This luxurious briefcase is made one-of-a-kind. Images show the actual product you would receive.
My office is inundated with relics from the past, and I’m probably chief among them. Military artifacts especially seem to find a home with me. I originally designed this briefcase/business bag after a World War II Navigator’s Bag (circa 1943) that I’ve owned for years. The design seemed timeless; and with all the compartments inside, I thought it would be a perfect fit for today’s busy executive. It has proved to be popular with our customers in both our full-grain leather and American buffalo models.
“Due to the popularity of the design, I decided to up the ante a bit and offer it in luxurious American Alligator. I personally chose the hides that were used and supervised every step of the construction at the hands of our master leathersmith. There is an art to planning an alligator bag like this, but the end result is well worth the time it takes. This is truly a custom, handcrafted bag of superior quality and incredible beauty. You’ll think you’re a celebrity when you walk through the airport with it or bring it to a business meeting. There’s absolutely no way this bag won’t be noticed.”
– Colonel
Expanding body with adjustable side gussets accommodates your necessities. Straps with workable buckles wrap around the bag and also have snap closures for easy access. I added an adjustable, detachable shoulder strap to go with the handle, which I’m sure those World War II navigators would have appreciated.
Two dividers inside give you a total of three deep pockets. A leather pocket on the front of the first divider holds your iPad, pen, business cards, etc. I designed the unique solid brass closure especially for the bag. Brass pommel shield* on the back is serial numbered. Made in our Workshop in Lynnville, TN, USA.
The Colonel believes these exquisite bags deserve to be paired with a luggage tag of comparable quality. Enjoy a complimentary American Alligator Luggage Tag and Free Personalization on the Colonel, elevating the luxury factor of this premium American Alligator No. 1943 Navigator Briefcase.
*Historically, the pommel shield was used on U.S. Cavalry saddles to identify the seat size and, many times, the arsenal that supplied them.

The hides we use are from alligators raised and trapped in the wild. Each hide is intentionally chosen to show the natural character markings such as scars and scratches that are common to alligators raised in the wild. Learn more about our American Alligator.

We are committed to producing quality, handcrafted products that showcase our time-honored standards of excellence and deep respect for the Americana tradition. Col. Littleton products go through rigorous testing and numerous quality inspections before being shipped to our customers. Should you receive a Col. Littleton product that is defective in materials or workmanship, you can count on us to make it right. Our guarantee is limited to the cost of the product itself. It also does not cover normal wear and tear. We feel if you just plain “wore it out,” you got your money’s worth. Also, we cannot be responsible for an item which has suffered through alteration, damage due to improper cleaning, improper use, mishandling or accident. If we made a mistake in personalizing your product or if the product is defective in materials or workmanship, of course we’ll replace it. Otherwise, personalized products are not returnable.
Leather is a passion for me. There are more kinds of leather and leather processing out there than you can shake a stick at. You can mold leather into just about any shape or form. You can make every hide look just alike. You can dye it green, blue or even pink. You can apply a finish, coat it, spray it or make it look slick and shiny. That’s not what we’re about at Col. Littleton. To me the beauty is in the naturalness of the leather. People always comment to me about the special “feel” of our leather and how it becomes even more beautiful after it has some wear on it. It’s all about our leather process. When you buy Col. Littleton leather goods, you’re buying, for the most part, full-grain American vegetable-tanned steerhide that has received a minimum of alteration. We don’t apply a finish to hide character markings. The way I see it, every marking tells a story and covering them robs the piece of its life and character.
I see a real resurgence in the country today for products made in America. Our focus is to design and create products that speak to the time-honored traditions that have made this country great such as handmade craftsmanship, authentic rich leathers and quality workmanship. There’s a nostalgic feel about the products we make . . . most of them could have been made 100 years ago and many are made using turn-of-the-20th-century methodology and machinery. Our products are true Americana; forged as our forefathers intended by people who care and take pride in making a beautiful product.

Amazing product. I was gifted this briefcase and it turns heads everywhere. Have since purchased the 1943 in CL Buffalo for four other coworkers. Nice to see the alligator is back in stock! Your entire product line is amazing!
First, Full Disclosure, I am already a HUGE Colonel fan. His products and the folks that work with him are BEYOND STELLAR. I am fortunate enough to have had the ability to purchase pretty much one of everything the Colonel makes. I still have things I have ordered and haven’t used yet. However, when I find myself with a need and yes I have one of Colonel’s products to fill the need. As I look around both my home office and work office, it is full of the Colonel. So today I will review the No. 1943 Navigator (American Alligator) Briefcase. I have purchased 2, one in Black Alligator and one in Brown.
First, They are both SHOW STOPPERS or as my wife says “Head Turners”. I work in the legal world and I am around many people with quality briefcases etc. but with the No. 43 (American Alligator) Navigator I get looks and compliments from everyone. The Navigator has ample room for files, a portfolio and more. It can be carried like a briefcase or with shoulder strap. It expands and has a “One of a kind look”, you won’t see another quality bag like it. There is something to be said when “no one else has a bag like this”. Please don’t let the price scare you, The American Alligator No. 43 Navigator is worth every penny. If you want to look good at your next meeting, pick up the gator navigator, You can’t go wrong. Gator Nick
Absolutely amazing. My wife gave this briefcase for a Christmas present. People have run me down at the airport to ask where this briefcase came from. I tell them proudly…”From the best, Colonel Littleton”. It is truely a work of art. Thank you Colonel and Lana. As with your other alligator products, this is an heirloom.
