“Back in the golden age of travel, passengers took pride in boarding yachts with luxurious, elaborate travel trunks. These classic pieces weren’t designed to fit into overhead compartments – they were meant to make a statement. Inspired by that same sense of exceptional luxury and personal style, my goal was to reimagine the travel trunk for the modern adventurer.

This handcrafted trunk is the result of endless attention to detail. Colonel says he used more than 150 solid brass rivets in its construction for beauty and durability – just the beginning of the careful handwork involved. Each trunk is meticulously crafted one at a time in the Col. Littleton Workshop, Lynnville, TN.

FUNCTIONALITY MEETS TIMELESS DESIGN

Inspired by the opulent travel trunks of the past, this modern iteration marries classic luxury with the needs of the modern traveler. The main body of the trunk is artfully handcrafted in our exceptional American Alligator Leather, which we’ve accented with handmade Red Oak wood slats secured by brass rivets. A roomy Alligator exterior pocket (4 ¾” (W) x 7 ¾” (L) x 1 ½” (D) is ideal for passport, boarding pass, tickets, receipts, phone or even a snack. An American Calfskin lining and solid brass hardware complete its stunning design.

A push-button roller handle with Alligator trim locks at three heights, extends to 39 inches, and is complemented by an Alligator carry handle for added versatility. The trunk’s three buckle closure straps and two interior straps, all in American Alligator lined in American Steerhide, keep your belongings secure. Once unfastened, the top lifts off to reveal a spacious interior perfect for a weekend getaway or business excursion. (Colonel packed the trunk with three shirts, a sweatshirt, a shave kit, an extra bandana and belt, a pair of shoes with socks inside, three t-shirts, three pairs of boxer shorts, and two pairs of pants.)

*Historically, the pommel shield was used on U. S. Cavalry saddles to identify the seat size and, many times, the arsenal that supplied them.

NOTE: Col. Littleton American Alligator products are made from hides of alligators raised and trapped in the wild rather than from hides of farm-raised alligators. Our hides may show natural character and markings common to alligators raised in their natural habitat. Any natural character markings you might see such as small scars, scrapes, or scratches are part of the character of an animal raised in the wild.

Leather Trim/Lining: Always full-grain, the finest cut of leather. Expertly vegetable-tanned and finished in rich custom colors. Handcrafted exclusively for Col. Littleton in small U.S. tanneries.
