No. 36 Double Portfolio

It seems like I always have a dozen legal pads going at the same time. And, then I have one or two extra ones stuck inside my regular portfolio. Out of all this disorganization came the idea for the No. 36 Double Portfolio. It may be the only left and right-handed portfolio in existence.

The leather center panel has a large pocket on one side and two smaller pockets on the opposite side with pen slots and a business card holder. A large pocket in the middle is closed with brass ball studs. The center panel is held in place with a wooden dowel rod. Made in the Col. Littleton Workshop of vintage brown polished leather. Two-position solid brass snap front allows room for carrying extra documents. Diagonal inside front and back pockets behind each legal pad add to the roominess.

Accommodates standard 8.5″ x 11″ ruled pad. Comes with two Col. Littleton Memorandum Pads, which may be reordered. Front may be personalized with three initials in lower right corner.

12.5”H x 10.5”W overall closed.

Inside Center Pockets

Inside Middle Pocket – 11.5″H x 7″W (closes with two brass ball studs)

Four small Pockets:

  1. 4.75″H x 5.5″W
  2. 4.75″H x 2.25″W
  3. 4.75″H x 3.25″W
  4. 2″H x 3.75″W (Business Card Pocket)

  2. I purchased my Double Portfolio just a week or so ago. I am so glad I made the purchase. With 2 notepads and multiple pockets, it permits me to be much more organized. I keep one side for all my personal projects. The other side is devoted for anything related to my job.
The quality is outstanding! I decided to not have my initials put on it so that my kids can use it when I am no longer around to use it anymore!!

  3. I have purchased two of these portfolios. I purchased one for my husband after he received a promotion at work 3 years ago. I recently received the same promotion with my employer, so I bought myself the same portfolio. The quality is excellent. My husband’s is still in great condition after daily use. I love having the pocket in the middle. I know this will last both my husband and me through the end of our careers.

  4. The No.36 Portfolio is one beautiful piece of work. As a paralegal of many years, I’ve had occasion to use many a portfolio in court and out. The No. 36 very quickly became my favorite. The design, the quality of leather and the craftsmanship is second to none. It is simply gorgeous. The double portfolio causes many a double take. Compliments are many. Thank you Colonel and Company for your commitment to quality.

  5. Bought this after I had my number 18 for a couple of years. This one stays on my desk. It is nice to have two pads available to take notes, write up lists, etc. It keeps all my working papers in one location. I close it up when I travel so the kids do not lose any of my papers. Another great product from Col Littleton.

  7. I am happy to say this was my first, remember like yesterday walking in the Grove Park Inn and falling in love at first sight with this handmade product. Its been a great two years with much value with work. Receive compliments daily from peers. Only one suggestion, though I love the ability to take out the middle section, would be nice if the rod had a way to stay in place when utilizing the middle section – no worries, two rubber bands work perfectly! I would highly recommend this product to any professional that is on the go, especially when you have to travel a lot.

  8. This is just a GREAT Portfolio! Plenty of space for everything going into a meeting and always a complement. I’m a “regular” when it comes to the Colonel’s products. Thanks for another wonderful product…

  9. I bought this as a gift for my husband after he received a promotion at work. The quality is excellent and I can tell it will be long lasting. My husband loves it as well. The portfolio is like the picture, not the video (i.e. no individual pen-size pockets), which is fine – just FYI. I assumed it would be, so I was not disappointed, just wanted to let anyone else know in case they were wondering.

  10. I love the flexibility, storage space, and small size of this item. I can carry my phone, calculator, mini-iPad, and still have room for the many other things I need for meetings and have it all in a nice easy to carry size that isn’t bulky. The many compartments makes it so very accommodating. It’s like having a briefcase in a small pad-folio. I love it.

  11. Great Engineering Tool!
I have had the No.36 Portfolio for some time now and it is a constant companion. I use a green engineering sketch pad on one side and the Colonel Littleton ruled writing pad on the other. When I get back from the field and sit down with customer reps to discuss their project I experience focused attention as I flip the double portfolio back and forth in my presentation. The leather is getting burnished with use and really looks great!

  12. Double Dandy
As with all my other items the leather feel and color came just as I requested. Consistency is key with any heirloom quality item and that’s what I’ve grown to expect from Littleton’s- Consitent Excellence!

  13. Twice as nice
The two pads really helps me be more productive. Don’t know how I functioned before my wife gave it too me. Exceptional quality.

Our Story

We are committed to producing quality, handcrafted products that showcase our time-honored standards of excellence and deep respect for the Americana tradition. Col. Littleton products go through rigorous testing and numerous quality inspections before being shipped to our customers. Should you receive a Col. Littleton product that is defective in materials or workmanship, you can count on us to make it right. Our guarantee is limited to the cost of the product itself. It also does not cover normal wear and tear. We feel if you just plain “wore it out,” you got your money’s worth. Also, we cannot be responsible for an item which has suffered through alteration, damage due to improper cleaning, improper use, mishandling or accident. If we made a mistake in personalizing your product or if the product is defective in materials or workmanship, of course we’ll replace it. Otherwise, personalized products are not returnable.

Leather is a passion for me. There are more kinds of leather and leather processing out there than you can shake a stick at. You can mold leather into just about any shape or form. You can make every hide look just alike. You can dye it green, blue or even pink. You can apply a finish, coat it, spray it or make it look slick and shiny. That’s not what we’re about at Col. Littleton. To me the beauty is in the naturalness of the leather. People always comment to me about the special “feel” of our leather and how it becomes even more beautiful after it has some wear on it. It’s all about our leather process. When you buy Col. Littleton leather goods, you’re buying, for the most part, full-grain American vegetable-tanned steer hide that has received a minimum of alteration. We don’t apply a finish to hide character markings. The way I see it, every marking tells a story and covering them robs the piece of its life and character.

I see a real resurgence in the country today for products made in America. Our focus is to design and create products that speak to the time-honored traditions that have made this country great such as handmade craftsmanship, authentic rich leathers and quality workmanship. There’s a nostalgic feel about the products we make . . . most of them could have been made 100 years ago and many are made using turn-of-the-20th-century methodology and machinery. Our products are true Americana; forged as our forefathers intended by people who care and take pride in making a beautiful product.
