A lifetime investment that ages to a beautiful patina as the years go by.

Bibles are among the most loved family heirlooms.  You want your Bible to last a lifetime and live on after you to be cherished by your children and grandchildren.  The No. 1 Leather Bible Cover can help make that possible.

Functionality and Design

Superbly handcrafted in the Col. Littleton Workshop of our wonderfully-textured, full-grain, rich Tobacco Brown American Buffalo which is dry milled for a soft hand and lived in look and feel.  Trimmed in our traditional Vintage Brown Polished American Steerhide for a nice contrast.  Two front straps with 2-position, solid brass ball stud closures.  Interior pen/pencil holder.  To complete the look the No. 1 Bible Cover is edge coated and edge stitched – hallmarks of quality construction – to give it durability and an aesthetically-pleasing finished look.

“I’ve been ‘The Colonel’ for nearly 35 years. In that time I’ve designed and marketed literally hundreds of products. I always like to hear ideas and product suggestions from our customers. Without a doubt, the No. 1 suggestion over the years has been Leather Bible Covers. People want a quality Bible Cover to protect the book most important in their lives.

“Why haven’t I made one before . . . simply because there are so many different types and sizes of Bibles out there, and I knew I needed to come up with something as universal as possible. This is a start. It won’t fit all books and Bibles; however, you may like it so much you want to get a Bible to fit it if you don’t already have one.

“All I know for sure is if everybody buys one who has asked me to make one over the years, I’m going to be out of stock frequently.”

– Colonel

Construction & Special Features

The No. 1 Bible Cover can be configured in a number of ways for your personal use.  See the pictures above and watch Colonel’s video for ideas and then experiment to see which way works best for you.  Where space is limited, the tri-fold construction allows you to fold the Bible Cover to a Bible-reading or note-taking position.  For at-home study, our No. 10 Writing Board creates a great surface on which to rest your Bible and take notes.  See it below.

Each Bible Cover comes with a No. 20 Memorandum Pad (7″H x 5″W) for quick sermon notes and jotting down verses or topics you want to research.  Also included is our No. 28 Journal Register for personal study and more extensive notes.  Both may be reordered.  You can date the registers as you use them, save them for future reference and to share  thoughts with future generations of your family.

“As a special gift to you, I designed the Old Rugged Cross Bookmark to accompany each No. 1 Bible Cover. These bookmarks are strategically cut to show an authentic scar in the leather . . . a constant reminder of the price that was paid, which helps keep things in perspective on our daily journey.”

– Colonel

May be personalized with 3 block-style initials on front antiqued oval solid brass plate.

Product Packaging includes a protective cotton canvas drawstring dust bag with the Col. Littleton Cameo Logo and a Col. Littleton Gift Box.  Made in Lynnville, TN USA.

When it comes to American Buffalo, Colonel says,
“Expect a leather that is unapologetically rugged with more character, nicks, scrapes and variations in color.”

  1. This was my first Colonel purchase…then I have broke the bank buying up so many other gorgeous products! I bought two of these…one for my huge study Bible…and one for my smaller Bible that I take to church. According to the dimensions, my study bible is too big, but I decided to take the risk that I could make it fit…and it fits! I can’t fit anything else in it, but that’s ok. With my smaller bible I can easily fit my journal that I take sermon notes in. The way it is organized is fantastic. LOVE LOVE

  2. OUTSTANDING!!!! WOW!! I just received my bible cover and am blown away by the incredible workmanship of the piece. I own quite a bit of leather portfolios, etc and this one is by far the best I have purchased. I will pass this down for generations to come. Thank you for such great American craftsmanship. I will definitely spread the word to shop your website and will definitely be a repeat customer in the future. God bless!!

  3. I just received my new Bible Cover. First let me say I am very familiar with this company’s products. I have acquired many of them in the past, as I love fine leather products very much. This company does things that you cannot find anywhere in my opinion. The quality, attention to detail, and service, is rare in this world we find ourselves today. This is a true red-white-blue American company that does things with their leather products that are just special. Anyway as I love the Word of God, I held a special level of anticipation, as this particular delivery approached. All I can say is it exceeded all my expectations times ten. I love it so much. Praise God.

  4. I bought my first leather Bible cover at Calvary Chapel, Costa Mesa, CA after I was baptized during the Jesus Revolution 1976. It’s worn and I’ve been looking for a classic for years. I saw this and thought – this is what I’ve been searching for for decades. Thank you colonel for creating such an incredible master piece to wrap Gods written word so beautifully. I adore it! It will be cherished for generations to come.

  5. I actually had to encourage my husband to get the No. 1 Bible Cover. As one review said, it’s a wonderful product. I love the texture of the American Buffalo and the color difference between it and the contrasting trim. I knew he would love it, and he does.

Our Warranty

We are committed to producing quality, handcrafted products that showcase our time-honored standards of excellence and deep respect for the Americana tradition. Col. Littleton products go through rigorous testing and numerous quality inspections before being shipped to our customers. Should you receive a Col. Littleton product that is defective in materials or workmanship, you can count on us to make it right. Our guarantee is limited to the cost of the product itself. It also does not cover normal wear and tear. We feel if you just plain “wore it out,” you got your money’s worth. Also, we cannot be responsible for an item which has suffered through alteration, damage due to improper cleaning, improper use, mishandling or accident. If we made a mistake in personalizing your product or if the product is defective in materials or workmanship, of course we’ll replace it. Otherwise, personalized products are not returnable.

Our Leather

Leather is a passion for me. There are more kinds of leather and leather processing out there than you can shake a stick at. You can mold leather into just about any shape or form. You can make every hide look just alike. You can dye it green, blue or even pink. You can apply a finish, coat it, spray it or make it look slick and shiny. That’s not what we’re about at Col. Littleton. To me the beauty is in the naturalness of the leather. People always comment to me about the special “feel” of our leather and how it becomes even more beautiful after it has some wear on it. It’s all about our leather process. When you buy Col. Littleton leather goods, you’re buying, for the most part, full-grain American vegetable-tanned steerhide that has received a minimum of alteration. We don’t apply a finish to hide character markings. The way I see it, every marking tells a story and covering them robs the piece of its life and character.

Our Craftsmanship

I see a real resurgence in the country today for products made in America. Our focus is to design and create products that speak to the time-honored traditions that have made this country great such as handmade craftsmanship, authentic rich leathers and quality workmanship. There’s a nostalgic feel about the products we make . . . most of them could have been made 100 years ago and many are made using turn-of-the-20th-century methodology and machinery. Our products are true Americana; forged as our forefathers intended by people who care and take pride in making a beautiful product.
