Made in the Col. Littleton Workshop in Lynnville, TN, USA from full-grain Tobacco Brown American Buffalo which is wonderfully textured and dry milled for a soft hand. Colonel trimmed this upgraded, premium version of the journal in our full-grain Vintage Brown American Steerhide and lined it in Calfskin to enhance the quality and aesthetics of the journal. Our leather is both vegetable-tanned and hand-tanned. Over time, this special leather develops its own natural character and patina – the more you use this journal, the better it looks.
Colonel’s Journal Register, which may be reordered, contains 160 ruled and center-stitched pages (80 sheets). Opens flat so you can write on both sides of the paper. Standard composition notebooks also work well with our journal cover. Date the registers on the inside cover, file them away and you have a chronicle of your daily activity and a treasure for future generations – your life story as told by you.
Reinforced polished leather spine and edge stitching for durability. Extra storage with interior pockets for business cards and pens. Leather is a passion for me. There are more kinds of leather and leather processing out there than you can shake a stick at. You can mold leather into just about any shape or form. You can make every hide look just alike. You can dye it green, blue or even pink. You can apply a finish, coat it, spray it or make it look slick and shiny. That’s not what we’re about at Col. I just received my first Colonel Littleton product, the No. 30 Journal Notebook Cover in Tobacco Brown American Buffalo. I purchased this to celebrate a new job and upcoming move abroad and could not be happier. The journal cover is beautiful and very well-made. After many years living out west, I have come to love and appreciate the American Buffalo and am so happy to be able to take a little piece of America with me overseas. In addition to the quality of the journal cover, I am blown away by the level of customer service I received and because of this (and the Moonie), Colonel Littleton now has a lifelong customer.
So I use this journal cover every day, including today. It’s incredibly durable, looks great and I just like using it. A different reviewer complained about the card holders, but I love them. I keep my business card in one in case I accidentally leave it behind after a meeting (can’t imagine (!) but just in case) and a tiny pen in the other pocket. I carry it to work in my bentley tote, which it matches and fits perfectly in. I love using Col Littleton leather and American Buffalo products.
Wonderful journal cover! Quality, construction and materials are top notch, it looks phenomenal and ages beautifully with extended use in a briefcase.
Writing on the left side of the journal can be trickier in the early stages of a new composition notebook. Journal #30B should have no cardholders on the left side and just be a beautiful cover!
