Colonel’s No. 12 Leather Care cleans, polishes, and protects your leather items. It is specifically formulated for our natural, vegetable-tanned leathers: American Steerhide and American Buffalo (not to be used on American Alligator). This product works well on all of our leather products, from bags to wallets and everything in between. It comes in a handy Col. Littleton drawstring bag for storage and contains 7 fl. oz. of product.

“I’m a fan of well-traveled leather goods, but every now and then leather items may need a touch-up to revive them and keep them looking their best,” says the Colonel.
Directions for use: Shake the bottle well. Apply a small amount of leather care to a soft cloth and rub thoroughly into the leather, particularly in areas of repeated flexing. Let it dry. Then polish briskly with a soft cloth or brush for a rich finish. Do not use on fibrous or suede-finish leathers. Keep out of reach of children.
Note: For best results, treat the entire item for a uniform look. This is not a spot cleaner. Marks from ball-point pens, oil stains, etc., are pretty much there to stay. However, the use of our leather care can help blend them, as well as other surface scuffs and scratches, into the background making them less noticeable. In time, they will all become part of the beautiful patina and aging process typical of natural leather.

Littleton product that is defective in materials or workmanship, you can count on us to make it right. Our guarantee is limited to the cost of the product itself. It also does not cover normal wear and tear. We feel if you just plain “wore it out,” you got your money’s worth. Also, we cannot be responsible for an item which has suffered through alteration, damage due to improper cleaning, improper use, mishandling or accident. If we made a mistake in personalizing your product or if the product is defective in materials or workmanship, of course we’ll replace it. Otherwise, personalized products are not returnable.
Leather is a passion for me. There are more kinds of leather and leather processing out there than you can shake a stick at. You can mold leather into just about any shape or form. You can make every hide look just alike. You can dye it green, blue or even pink. You can apply a finish, coat it, spray it or make it look slick and shiny. That’s not what we’re about at Col. We don’t apply a finish to hide character markings. The way I see it, every marking tells a story and covering them robs the piece of its life and character.

Ordered a No. 12 Leather Care Kit with my No. 5 Grip Bag to have on hand and decided to try it out on my most-prized King Hickory chair. I was concerned it was too late to bring the leather back to life but after just the first application, the No. 12 Leather Care Kit resurrected the leather and even brought that new-leather smell back to the room! I will be using only the No. 12 Leather Care Kit from now on for all my leather goods!
The Colonel’s items are always 1st class. High quality, works great, packaged the best. Hard to find products of this class.
I recently acquired a No 18 Portfolio secondhand and set about trying to restore it. I started with an application of Neatsfoot Oil, which I had always used in the past for such projects. The result is the first photo on the left…better but darker and no improvement in the scratches. I discussed the situation with Joyce, Manager of Customer Care at Col. Littleton’s. She suggested using #12 CLC Kit and this is reflected in the second photo. The change was striking…almost new looking. I highly recommend it for any leather restoration need. Easy to apply and very well explained in writing and video.
