Timeless Style with a hidden feature
Available in Natural (Warm Cream), Khaki and Dark Khaki.
There’s a certain comfort in a favorite hat, much like an old friend who continues to show up season after season. A good hat provides shade in the summer and warmth in the winter.
The No. 2 Lynnville Panama Hat features brass eyelets and an inside “stash” band for concealing a little “traveling” money as well as a space to sign your name. This ensures you won’t go home with the wrong hat. The hat bodies are handwoven in Ecuador from the fibers of the Toquilla Palm, while the hat models are formed and made in the USA. It has a 3″ brim and an American Steerhide leather band.
The hat body is treated with a special Teflon® coating that makes it oil and water repellent. The “Uncrushable” insert inside the hat protects against cracking from normal wear and tear.

WHAT IS A GENUINE PANAMA HAT
“If you’re in the market for a Panama Hat, you want to be sure you get the real thing. So, what makes a Panama Hat genuine? Authentic Panama Hats are handwoven from the fibers of the Toquilla Palm, which is native to the tropical coastal area of Ecuador. The hat ‘bodies’ are meticulously handwoven by skilled local artisans in Ecuador who are following a family tradition of weaving that has been passed down through generations. If a hat is made from anything other than toquilla palm, it is not a genuine Panama. I think it fits well into our product mix, because all genuine Panama Hats are one-of-a-kind, like many of our products. Each hat is its own work of art by one highly-skilled artisan, and even that artisan could never make that same hat again. I’m a fan of uniqueness and individual craftsmanship, so that appeals to me.”

FYI: Genuine Panama Hats are made in Ecuador, not Panama. The name “Panama Hat” evolved from the popularity of the hat among workers during the construction of the Panama Canal.
THE PROPER WAY TO PUT ON AND REMOVE YOUR HAT: Even though it may seem natural, putting on or removing your hat by “pinching” it at the crown is a very bad idea. Not only will the oils from your skin stain your hat, but this repeated action over time will break down the fibers and seriously damage your hat. The proper way to put on and remove your hat is by the brim. Take the Colonel’s advice, and your hat will be your best friend for a very long time.
Just purchased the No, 2 Lynnville Panama Hat in the natural color. Let me say delivery was extremely fast and opening the well packaged hat box it was like Christmas in July. With all of the information that was included as well as the cookie just made the occasion that much more enjoyable. I looked over the hat very carefully and it is of pure quality and many added features you do not find in other straw Panama hats. I ordered my normal hat size (Large, 7 3/8s to 7 1/2 inches) and it fit perfectly. Inside the box was a leather strap that fits under the hat band to make the hat fit tighter if needed. My only question is, I cannot understand why the hat has hat brim grommets? What purpose does it serve. I think this will be my go-to hat year around and may just go with another one in the khaki color. I guess all my other straw hats will be going up on eBay as don’t need them anymore Ha!!
I just received my new Panama Hat. What it is not: It is not a $40,000 Mil Fino at 3000 weaves per inch. What it is: It appears to be an excellent, well-made hat for someone who wants to wear a summer-weight hat regularly without worrying about the inevitable wear and tear a straw hat will experience. The hat has several innovative features, like the cash pocket and the reinforcement at the front of the crown (helps to protect the hat when you forget to remove it by the brim and instead pinch the crown). The Colonel claims to have coated these hats with a Teflon water resistance coating. As I travel to the Caribbean in a few weeks, I’m sure I’ll put this to the test.
Thanks for the thoughtful review! We’re glad you’re enjoying the hat’s design and features, it’s made for exactly that kind of everyday adventure. Safe travels to the Caribbean!
I look so great in hats but have never actually owned one that I could wear comfortably after the initial try-on moment. They were either too tight or too hot or lost their shape right away if they happened to actually fit to begin with. So frustrating. This hat has been absolutely perfect! It was a gift from a friend <3
Lookin’ great Penny! We’re so glad you’ve finally found a hat that fits the bill! Thank you for your support and for taking the time to leave your stellar review.
