Timeless Style with a hidden feature

Available in Natural (Warm Cream) or Khaki colors.

There’s a certain comfort in a favorite hat, much like an old friend who continues to show up season after season. A good hat provides shade in the summer and warmth in the winter.

The No. 2 Lynnville Panama Hat features brass eyelets and an inside “stash” band for concealing a little “traveling” money and a space to sign your name. This ensures you won’t go home with the wrong hat. The hat bodies are handwoven in Ecuador, while the hat models are made in the USA. It has a 3″ brim and a leather band.

The hat body is treated with a special TeflonĀ® coating that makes it oil and water repellent. The “Uncrushable” insert inside the hat protects against cracking from normal wear and tear.

“I’m a ‘hat man’ of long standing. As a boy, I looked forward to getting old enough to wear a hat. I’ve worn one since that day,”

– Colonel Littleton

Hat size scale

Hat size is based on the circumference of the head where the hat brim sits. If you measure between sizes, we suggest ordering the larger size hat.

  • Small ā€“ Hat Size 6 Ā inches ā€“ 7 inches, Circumference 21 Ā½ inches to 21 ā…ž inches
  • Medium ā€“ Hat Size 7 ā…› ā€“ 7 Ā¼, Circumference 22 Ā¼ inches to 22 ā… inches
  • Largeā€“ Hat Size 7 ā…œ ā€“ 7 Ā½, Circumference 23 inches to 23 Ā½ inches
  • X-Large ā€“ Hat Size 7 ā… ā€“ 7 Ā¾, Circumference 23 ā…ž inches to 24 Ā¼ inches

THE PROPER WAY TO PUT ON AND REMOVE YOUR HAT: Even though it may seem natural, putting on or removing your hat by “pinching” it at the crown is a very bad idea. Not only will the oils from your skin stain your hat, but this repeated action over time will break down the fibers and seriously damage your hat. The proper way to put on and remove your hat is by the brim. Take the Colonel’s advice, and your hat will be your best friend for a very long time.

  1. Repeat customer and this time for the khaki Panama hat. It’s perfect! A perfect companion to my green Tilly hat, except much classier. The postcards and extra little accouterments make opening the promptly delivered box a treat like opening birthday or Christmas gifts.

My first Colonel Littleton purchase was the classic brown leather bomber jacket. It will outlast ME! I’m sure there are many out there that wish they could get their hands on one.

I’m thinking about getting the No. 1943 Navigator Briefcase . If I do, and personal to the Colonel here, send me one of those giant, double decker moon pies, one that is the size of a dinner plate! In banana .

    • Roger, we’re thrilled to hear that you’re happy with your Panama Hat! Thank you for taking the time to leave your review and, of course, for your continued support throughout the years.

  2. Oh how I have waited patiently for this day to come! The Colonel’s Panama Hats are available again! Now my boys have a chance to grow up to be true gentlemen of cool style & mystique. What more can I say in praise of one of my finest & most useful friends?

    • We hope your boys love their Panama Hats! Thank you for your support, Duncan!

  3. The perfect gift for a Southern gentleman. My husband loves this hat for warmer months!

Our Warranty

We are committed to producing quality, handcrafted products that showcase our time-honored standards of excellence and deep respect for the Americana tradition. Col. Littleton products go through rigorous testing and numerous quality inspections before being shipped to our customers. Should you receive a Col. Littleton product that is defective in materials or workmanship, you can count on us to make it right. Our guarantee is limited to the cost of the product itself. It also does not cover normal wear and tear. We feel if you just plain ā€œwore it out,ā€ you got your moneyā€™s worth. Also, we cannot be responsible for an item which has suffered through alteration, damage due to improper cleaning, improper use, mishandling or accident. If we made a mistake in personalizing your product or if the product is defective in materials or workmanship, of course weā€™ll replace it. Otherwise, personalized products are not returnable.

Our Leather

Leather is a passion for me. There are more kinds of leather and leather processing out there than you can shake a stick at. You can mold leather into just about any shape or form. You can make every hide look just alike. You can dye it green, blue or even pink. You can apply a finish, coat it, spray it or make it look slick and shiny. Thatā€™s not what weā€™re about at Col. Littleton. To me the beauty is in the naturalness of the leather. People always comment to me about the special ā€œfeelā€ of our leather and how it becomes even more beautiful after it has some wear on it. Itā€™s all about our leather process. When you buy Col. Littleton leather goods, youā€™re buying, for the most part, full-grain American vegetable-tanned steerhide that has received a minimum of alteration. We donā€™t apply a finish to hide character markings. The way I see it, every marking tells a story and covering them robs the piece of its life and character.

Three kinds of full-grain leather hides overlapping. In order left to right: Vintage Brown American Steerhide, Brown American Alligator, and Tobacco Brown American Buffalo

Our Craftsmanship

I see a real resurgence in the country today for products made in America. Our focus is to design and create products that speak to the time-honored traditions that have made this country great such as handmade craftsmanship, authentic rich leathers and quality workmanship. Thereā€™s a nostalgic feel about the products we make . . . most of them could have been made 100 years ago and many are made using turn-of-the-20th-century methodology and machinery. Our products are true Americana; forged as our forefathers intended by people who care and take pride in making a beautiful product.
